There are times when you have the makings of a great kitchen. The footprint, layout and function is already there. Perhaps it was a trending kitchen back in the day. On entering the kitchen, you can see that a designer took his or her time to lay out things in the right location and much thought was given to how the space would function.
When we showed up to look at this kitchen, we were task with bringing this kitchen up from the 70’s into the 21st century. Our focus was on making some much needed improvements on the look of the kitchen, more so than moving things around and opening up walls as we usually do. It was in the right spot. There were not much changes to be made to the existing layout and would not have added much benefit other than that of the user liking and needs.
A few smart but simple effective design changes were done to achieve that goal. We opened up the upper section of the range to achieve an open feel and the hood was vented out to the side of the house. We designed a double arched glass Cabinet in the middle of the kitchen to match the existing windows of the house.
We invested in good quality custom Cabinets so that it would fit in with the rest of the house that was moving in that direction, LED lighting throughout the space, big deep Drawers for some practical and easy accessible storage, double recycle bins and an area for baking trays. It was topped off with Quartz counter top, simply but yet elegant white backsplash, stainless steel appliances and handles.
To see it all came together from design conception to finish product, made this another project we were pleased to be a part of.
